Reading the Economic Calendar

An economic calendar marks the release schedule along with the expected impact (usually color-coded).

What to note

  • The release time in your time zone.
  • The forecast vs previous figures — the market reacts to the difference between the actual result and expectations.
  • "High impact" releases close together — days like these need extra caution.

A simple rule for beginners: avoid opening new positions a few minutes before and after high-impact releases.
